Welcome to 2012 everybody! I hope you all had wonderful holidays and have some fun goals/plans for the upcoming year. As for me, I’m hoping to sew more quilts, learn to knit, and learn to make homemade croissants 🙂
I thought I could start off this New Year by FINALLY introducing myself.
My name is Jessica Salmon, although don’t be confused if you hear someone at the store calling me Sally (it is a family nickname and since my Aunt Diane works at the store it has stuck at American Quilting, too!)
I am married and my husband and I just built our first home in Orem, Ut.
I have three little munchkins:
Mady {age 4}, who loves headstands, brownies, and dancing
Austin {age 3} who loves trucks, balls, and motorcycles
and Mia {16 months} who likes pretending she is a big kid
Those three keep me pretty busy! But besides being a mom I enjoy cooking, reading, sewing, and golfing.
I started quilting about 2 years ago while I was living in Canada. I learned some basic skills and loved it, but wasn’t sure if I had the patience and skills to measure each square as exact as they should be…but I was hooked.
Then I moved back to Utah and my mom had signed me up for Saturday Sampler at American Quilting. It was the perfect quilting experience for me because it taught me a lot of basics while also challenging me. I’m doing my second year of Saturday Sampler now and have loved my new job as the AQ Blogger!
If you ever see me in the store, be sure and stop and say hello! I’m always open to suggestions and ideas for how to make the blog better!
So that’s me.
Glad to meet you, Jessica (Sally). Enjoy the blog, keep up the good work. Your little one remind me of my youthful days when my children were little. The share the same birthday month and were born in the same week of the month, so my third was born before the oldest celebrated her 2nd birthday. It was hetic but fun time, they were glad to become adults so they could celebrate their birthdays seperately instead of having one cake with 3 names.
Sally, you do a great job with the blog! We get compliments at the store all the time. I love your munchkins. I will always have a treat in my cupboard for them.
