We have tons of classes available at American Quilting. Most are beginning soon and even the ones that are already going can still be signed up for!
Beginning Hand Appliqué: This is a three part class, with one class each month. Sept. 20th, Oct. 18th and Nov. 15th. Please plan on attending all three classes. You will be learning several methods and skills. This is a perfect class for beginners. You will make a small quilt that will be perfect to place in a frame. Tuition- $30 Kit- $15
Buggy Barn Stars: October 6, 4-6 pm. Meridy will teach you how to master the Buggy Barn technique. We will make a star the night of class and after that you will be able to make any Buggy Barn pattern! A kit for one block will be supplied. Tuition-$15
Garden Party BOM –Begins October 3. Classes will be held on the first Monday of each month (October-March)from 5-6 pm. Cost is $33 each month. This cost will include all the patterns and fabric for the top of your quilt. There is a $20 sign up fee, which can be refunded at the end as credit to go toward your finishing kit. Space is limited so sign up as soon as possible. This is a darling quilt made from 1930’s reproduction fabrics.
Cotton Club BOM – Begins October 4 and is held the first Tuesday of each month from 5-6. This quilt is made with nineteenth century reproduction fabrics of red, brown and beige. There are 45 different blocks set on point in vertical rows. This really is an incredible quilt. This club has a $20 sign up fee that can be used as a credit toward your finishing kit. Each month you will get the fabric, pattern and instruction on how to sew the blocks. The cost each month will be $22. Class begins in October and will end next August. Don’t miss out on this wonderful BOM. Space is limited to 20 people.
Banner Day: November 2, 4-6 pm.Sharon will teach you how to make these cute banners to help in your celebrations! Very easy to make and lots of fun. Let us know if you want a kit – $30 or ask us for a supply list. Tuition- $10 includes pattern.
Hair Bow Holder : October 25, 4-6 pm. Do you need a cute and helpful way to store/display all your daughters’ hair bows, headbands and clips? This is a really fun quilted holder that you will love that will also be useful. Please let us know if you want a kit.

Hand Quilting – November 29, 4-6 pm. Come and learn how to hand quilt. We would love for you to bring a small quilt for you to learn on. (If you have been taking the beginning appliqué that would be perfect). Or a tiny wall hanging would work great. We will provide a small kit for you with several items you will need; like needle, thread etc. You will need to bring your own thimble and a lap hoop if you have one. We will have thimbles for you to borrow if you don’t have one. Please let us know if you will need us to provide a hoop for you. Tuition- $15
Machine Appliqué: September 28, 4-6 pm. Gloria will teach you an alternate technique to hand appliqué. This machine appliqué method does not involve your edges needing to be turned under but is washable and won’t fray. You will need to bring your own machine that has a blanket stitch. You will also need an “open toe foot” on your machine. A kit will be supplied. Tuition-$15
Mini English Paper Piecing: November 4, 4-6 pm. Come and learn how to sew a tiny Dresden plate and an itsy bitsy hexagon block too! Get the patterns & templates to make several miniature blocks. Cute and really fun to do. This would make a great “take along” project. A small kit will be provided. Tuition-$15
Ric Rac Flowers: October 27, 4-6 pm. Shelley Taylor will show you how to make these darling flowers. You really won’t want to miss this class. There is a book available that has dozens of really cute things. You will be learning one of the things in the book. A kit will be provided for a flower. Purchasing a book is optional, but you will probably want one!

Rosie Tweet BOM– First class was August , second class will be held September 21 from 4-6. This is a sweet appliqué quilt designed by Cori Blunt from Chitter Chatter designs. We will be cutting kits for this 10-month program. Her stuff is so cute. You will be able to really practice those appliqué and embroidery skills. Cori has also consented to teach these classes! Cost will be $20 per month. This will include the fabric, pattern and teacher fee.
Izzy’s Choice– First class August , second class September 22nd 1:30-3:30. Jeana Kimball is teaching this popular class a second time. This will be a yearlong class where you will learn “Back Basted, Template Free” appliqué. Come in and see several of the fantastic blocks from this quilt.This is a great class for you to learn her technique. Tuition is $180 for the year, or $15 per class.
Cottage Garden– First class August, second class September 22nd 4:00-6:00. This is another 12-month appliqué class that Jeana Kimball is teaching. This quilt consists of darling birds and flowers. $180 per year.
Calico Garden Extraordinaire: This is our new “Civil War Era” Club. We will work a little bit at a time, do some fabric trading, and learn some history. We will spend a lot of time learning about Florence Peto, a great quilt maker and historian. There will be “posey packets” of tiny blocks for you to purchase each month if you choose to do so. This class will last for one year. This is one of the most charming quilts I have ever seen. This quilt will take some effort, but it is worth it. Come join us and make an heirloom quilt. Each month we will highlight something new to teach you to help you make your own fantastic version of this quilt. Class fee is $5 per month.
Clothesline Club : This year we are doing our 30’s club using the program from Darlene Zimmerman. She has lots of cute projects and patterns. We also go over history from the 1930’s. There will be prizes, treats and tons of friends! You will get a free pattern each month. Join anytime! $10 each class.
