Saturday Sampler sign-up starts on May 1st in the store!

Have you heard about Saturday Sampler? It is one of my FAVORITE things about American Quilting. Here is the run-down:

1. You pay an initial fee when you sign up (usually around $45 or so). You don’t know what they final quilt will look like: it is a MYSTERY!

2. Every month, the second Saturday of the month is Saturday Sampler day. You need to come in to the shop sometime that day to pick up your blocks for the next month. If you have your previous months blocks completed, you just need to show them. If you didn’t finish them there is a $5 fee to pick up your next blocks.

3. You follow Amy’s wonderful instructions and the pictures we put on the blog to construct your blocks. Amy does a great job of exposing us to many different kinds of block patterns and sewing techniques which makes this a great block of the month for beginners!

Sound fun? It is!

This year we are also letting those who aren’t able to visit the job on the special Saturday of the month participate! You can sign up for a “shipping” option so that (for an added fee) your monthly blocks will be sent to you in the mail. How great is that?

As I mentioned, the finished product is a mystery but here is a selection of fabrics that give you an idea of the feel for the quilt. These specific fabrics won’t be used, but similar:
