Quilt Show Entry Instructions 2012

Submitting Instructions:

  1. Preparing your quilt:
    1. Each entrant may submit no more than two quilts.
    2. Quilts should be maker’s original design and not from a kit, full nor partial.
    3. All quilts must have a label sewn on the back with your name and the name of the quilt. No pins please.
    4. Entries chosen for display must remain for the duration of the show.
    5. Quilts cannot be larger than 108” on any side.
    6. Please submit a brief story 250 words or less about your quilt.   Email to  lastevens@orem.org
    7. All quilts must have a hanging sleeve on the back of the quilt:                   Step 1—Cut a 4-1/2” strip of fabric whose length is the width of quilt top, fold it in half, press, draw a pencil line 1-1/2” below the fold.Step 2—Lay top of fold along top of quilt just below the binding, baste with large stitches along the pencil line making sure that the basting stitches do not show on the front of the quilt. No other stitching is required. Top of hanging sleeve must be loose — not sewn to the quilt.

– Complete the entry form (found on the Orem Library website) and bring non-refundable $15.00 entry fee.
– Drop off your quilt at the Orem Library Friday September 7th 11am-5pm or Saturday September 8th 9-2pm in a large white plastic garbage sack.

– Quilts selected for exhibition will be judged by 2 judges.  Judges’ decisions are final.

– Quilts not selected for exhibition will be returned prior to the show.

– At the conclusion of the show, quilts may be picked up Saturday October 13th from 10am to 2pm.
