There was no doubt in my mind that the Halloween Saturday Sampler quilt would turn out adorable (as they always do). But seriously? I love it so much. Don’t you?
There were lots of fun options for finishing your back – don’t you love this one with the star in the middle?
I am so excited to get mine finished up!
June Saturday Sampler
So–quick question for those of us who purchased pre-cut cloth from AQ for our backing. I went with the “2-pieces cut to 1.5 yards each” option, but I swear I can’t figure out for the life of me how to make that work, as each piece is only about 44″ wide, and we’re to use 27″ wide pieces if we make the back into four vertical rectangles (that’s the option I want). How am I supposed to have enough fabric to make four rectangles measure 27″ width and 36″ length..? Maybe I’m just horrible with math and am not seeing it. Help!
Will there be a tutorial online for putting this quilt together?
Cut each of your pieces of fabric in half-this will give you 3/4 of a yard or 27 inches. Sew one of your pieces to the other fabric choice and then repeat with your other 2 pieces but remember to sew them opposite from your 1st two. For example: orange to green then green to orange. Press your seams in opposite directions and then sew the two pieces together. Your colors should be in opposing corners and the length of your backing will be somewhere around 54 by 88 inches. This is more than you need in the length but if you want the 4 patch look then you will have some scraps left over. The quilter will bring the top down about 11 inches to make the 4 patch look even on the back.
Meridy, I guess I was just confused, because if I cut each of my pieces in half (on the fold?) I’d have only about 22″ width and then each wouldn’t be long enough for the 36″ that the pattern lists. If I cut it in half horizontally then I’ll have plenty of width (44″) but not enough length. So evidently I’m misunderstanding something. I’ll possibly just come into the store and have someone show me so my poor brain isn’t confused. I apologize for making what is probably a very easy thing into a complex one. Math’s never been my strong suit, as you can tell! If I figure it out before then and have a “duh!” moment, fine. I’ll re-read your comment and see! -R
Cute!! Where/how can I get the pattern?
We sell some kits for the whole quilt, now that the year is over. Just give the store a call for more info!
I would really like to get a copy of the pattern for the halloween tree, cat, and pumpkins that were displayed at our last class for the mystery satuday sampler. I loved it so much, and have exausted my search on line for any patterns even closely resembling the ones displayed. I understand that it is a pine needles pattern, but must be an old and no longer available one. I am willing to pay for a copy. Thanks, Kerry
We are trying to contact the company to make sure it is ok…I will let you know as soon as we hear back on it!
Wonderful, thanks so much. Kerry
Hi
I love this Halloween quilt! I live over an hour away from your store so being involved with the classes is difficult. We have been to your store for several shop hops and just love it! Is their any patterns or kits available for this quilt?
Thanks you much!
There is a pattern and I believe there are a few complete kits available! Call the store to check for availability…I think they go quickly.
I just found your site through Pinterest! Do you have any of the Saturday Halloween Sampler available. Thank you
I would love to purchase a kit or the pattern for your past June 2012 Saturday Sampler (Halloween). Do you still have this available, by chance?
Thanks,
